G.F. Strong Adult Concussion Services (GFACS) provides group education sessions to help adults recover from concussions and a rehabilitation program for people who have prolonged concussion symptoms after returning to their primary care provider.

What to expect

The GF Strong Adult Concussion Services (GFACS) offers 2 streams of service:

  1. GFACS Group Education Session
  2. GFACS Rehabilitation Program

GFACS service model

  • Clients require a referral to the GFACS: Group Education Session.
  • Following the group education session, clients return to the care of the family physician or medical clinic. The primary care provider is encouraged to prioritize assessing and treating depression/anxiety, sleep, and headaches in individuals following concussion as per Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation (ONF) 3rd Edition guideline for concussion/mild TBI.
  • Clients who attended the GFACS: Group Education Session and continue to have prolonged concussion symptoms are eligible to be referred to the GFACS: Rehabilitation Program.
