Volunteer
Volunteers can have an incredibly positive impact on the lives of patients, visitors and staff. Discover just how rewarding the experience can be at VCH.
Why volunteer with us?
Volunteers are essential to the quality care we provide at Vancouver Coastal Health. As a volunteer, you can make a difference while building new skills, exploring careers in health care, gaining experience for future employment or educational plans and meeting new people.
What are some of the important ways that volunteers contribute in your area?
- Information desk and wayfinding
- Friendly visitor, music therapy and pet therapy
- Inpatient and outpatient clinics support
- Special events
- Mental Health Program support
How much time do I need to commit?
As a general rule, we ask volunteers to commit two to three hours per week for a minimum of six months. Depending on the site and the volunteer position you're most interested in, the suggested time commitment may be longer than six months.
