Air contaminants can negatively affect our health. We respond to complaints and concerns about indoor air quality and work with others to maintain and improve ambient air quality.

Tobcacco reduction

Air quality health index The air health quality index is a health protection tool. A number from 1 to 10+ indicates the air quality. The higher the number, the greater the health risk associated with the quality of the air. Readings are taken at four stations in Metro Vancouver several times a day. The index, with associated health messages, is posted. Readings of 4 and above trigger health warnings, especially for at-risk populations.
