Occupational Therapists - New grad program
VCH is pleased to offer new graduate OT support and learning opportunities to help you enhance your confidence and competence as you transition to independent practice. As a new graduate, you will have access to on-call support with clinical skills and decision-making, new grad education sessions and supernumerary buddy shifts to support your learning needs.
Our support team for new graduates includes access to a dedicated new grad OT educator in addition to the entire practice team of managers, practice leaders, clinical resource therapists, and, of course, your co-workers. VCH also offers new grad roles with options to rotate to multiple practice areas tailored to your individual learning needs along with a gradual increase in caseload.
New Grad OT Educator can provide:
- On-call support with clinical skills and decision-making, resource finding, and emotional well-being
- Hands-on assistance with direct patient care
- Education on occupational therapy foundational skills
- Booked time for clinical support, mentorship, and career planning.
VCH’s New Grad Program includes:
- Up to 140 supernumerary hours to supplement classroom learning and enable consolidation of knowledge.
- Access to regional occupational therapy new grad educator to support onboarding, orientation, and continued education.
