Dr. David C. Evans
Dr. Evans is a trauma and general surgeon currently practicing at the Vancouver General Hospital, Vancouver, British Columbia.
His educational background includes B.A. from Princeton University (1984), M.D, C.M degrees (1988) and general surgery residency training (1993) from McGill University, critical care training at the University of Toronto (1997), and an M.Sc (Epidemiology) from the University of British Columbia (2010).
After two years in community surgery, he joined the McGill University Health Centre in 1997 where he was active in trauma, general surgery and critical care medicine, and served as Trauma Director at the Montreal General Hospital. He joined UBC and the VGH Department of Surgery in 2005 and has served as both VGH site trauma director and Vancouver Coastal Health regional trauma director. He has recently been appointed Medical Director, Trauma Services BC. He holds an ongoing CIHR research grant to evaluate trauma systems, and has been active on the executive committees of the Trauma Association of Canada and the Canadian Association of General Surgeons, and the examination board of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
He likes running, tennis, indy films and chocolate. He can't dance. Or fly.
