Immunization for adults

The need for immunizations does not end with childhood. By getting immunized, you protect yourself and others as well.

Vaccines for adults

Vaccines are routinely recommended for all adults at points in their life. Some of these vaccines are publicly funded (free), and others may need to be purchased. View the complete list of vaccines recommended for adults.

  • Tetanus and Diphtheria (Td) vaccine
  • Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine
  • Shingles vaccine
  • Pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine
  • Influenza (flu) vaccine
  • COVID-19 vaccine

If you missed your immunization during childhood, check the B.C routine immunization schedule for adults aged 18 years and older.

Speak with your health-care provider to discuss recommended vaccines, or call 8-1-1 if you have questions.

Travel vaccines

If you're travelling internationally, additional vaccines may be recommended or required. Talk to your health care provider or contact the Vancouver Coastal Health Travel Clinic.
