The Driver Rehabilitation Program at G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre provides service to clients who have a medical condition that may affect their ability to drive. GF Strong Driver Rehabilitation has worked with clients with a wide variety of diagnoses, including, but not limited to: stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, amputation, achondroplasia, vision disorders and many others.

How to access

  • Check eligibility

    Must have a valid driver’s license. A learner’s license or a license restricted to use with a rehab assessor is acceptable for program admission.

    Driver screening is not currently provided through this program. Please contact community home health, outpatient therapy or a private occupational therapy clinic for driver screening.

  • Get a referral

    To access the program, clients must be referred by a physician or a registered healthcare professional.

G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre is British Columbia’s largest rehabilitation centre. As a freestanding facility, it provides inpatient, outpatient, and clinical support services to clients/patients in four unique programs: Acquired Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and Neuromusculoskeletal, and a Transitional Rehabilitation Unit.
