Richmond Hospital Redevelopment Project
Giving Richmond, with its growing and aging population, the acute care it needs into the future.
Richmond Hospital will be adding a new nine-floor acute care tower, the Yurkovich Family Pavilion, which includes a bigger emergency department, more operating rooms, an intensive care unit; a fully equipped medical imaging department; a pharmacy; and short-stay pediatrics. This will give Richmond, with its growing and aging population, the acute care it needs moving into the future.
The total project cost is $1.959 billion and will be shared by the provincial government ($1.889 billion), Vancouver Coastal Health ($30 million) and Richmond Hospital Foundation ($40 million).

One final walk through the Rotunda
The Rotunda was originally built as a long-term care home on the Richmond Hospital campus. In 1993 it was converted into a general health services building. Now, in 2024, it will be demolished to create space for a new nine-floor acute care tower, the Yurkovich Family Pavilion.
