Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is responsible for providing health-care services to the people and communities we serve, which include Vancouver, Richmond, the North Shore, Sea to Sky, Sunshine Coast, Powell River, Bella Bella, and Bella Coola. VCH cares for patients referred from other health authorities, provides 46 per cent of all inpatient specialized care for the entire province, and works in partnership with Providence Health Care to deliver care in Vancouver.

    • Emergency Department Wait Times

      Provides emergency department wait times for the Vancouver, Richmond and North Shore emergency departments, as well as the Urgent and Primary Care Centres. Strong Rehabilitation Centre and George Pearson Centre have Indigenous Patient Navigators that provide direct patient and family support, including access to Elders, traditional ceremonies, and traditional healing practices, as well as support and education to health-care team members caring for Indigenous patients.

    • Richmond Continuing Care Central Intake

      Home and community care includes a range of services, such as home-based and ambulatory clinic nursing, community rehabilitation, case management, home support, palliative care, home and hospice care, adult day programs, assisted living, residential care, and respite care. Eligibility is based on B.C. residency and health needs. In accordance with Ministry of Health’s services policy, all individuals seeking access to long-term home and community care services must first consent to and participate in a needs assessment consisting of both a health and financial assessment. You can access these services by calling the central intake number, calling your local community health centre, or, upon discharge from a hospital, you will be connected by staff as appropriate.

    • Mental Health and Substance Use Intake Line – Richmond

      Provides a single point of entry for mental health and substance use health care and support services for the Richmond area of Vancouver Coastal Health. Services may be provided in hospitals, the community or in your own home.     • Foundry Richmond

      Foundry Richmond offers services for young people ages 12 to 24, including sexual health services, drop-in counselling, peer support and employment services, as well as primary care for youth who do not have a current family physician.     • Older Adult Mental Health Team

      Provides assessment and treatment for older adults with serious mental illness complicated by complex medical issues or dementia, including clients under 65 with early-onset dementia.

    • Adult Mental Health Team

      Provides case management, psychiatry and rehabilitation services for adults 19 and over who have ongoing mental health and substance use concerns that affect their functioning and require a broad range of coordinated services.

    • Mental Health and Addictions Housing

      Provides a continuum of housing services to individuals with serious mental health and substance use concerns who are currently connected with Richmond Mental Health and Substance Use Services. This includes Licensed Specialized Residential Care Facilities, Enhanced Supported Housing and Supported Independent Living placements.

    • Eating Disorders Program

      This program offers community-based assessment and treatment for youth, adults and families with eating disorders. Treatment may include individual, group and/or family counselling, medical monitoring and nutritional support.
