The Neuromusculoskeletal Inpatient Program provides specialized rehabilitation for various neuromusculoskeletal impairments using a team approach.
Neuromusculoskeletal impairments can include:
- neuromuscular diseases,
- Guillain Barre syndrome,
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS),
- complex polyneuropathy,
- complex trauma,
- complex amputee,
- burns,
- organ transplant,
- complex musculoskeletal conditions.
What to expect
The team includes hospitalists, physicians, physiatrists, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, Recreational Therapists and speech-language pathologists, depending on the patient's needs.
Clients outside the Vancouver Coastal Health catchment may be admitted to a rehabilitation center within their health authority, depending on the complexity of the injury or illness.
