Nikki Tyminski is originally from Regina, Saskatchewan and completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Alberta. She worked as a registered dietitian at the Alberta Children’s hospital in Calgary in Pediatric Weight Management before going back to Saskatchewan to attend medical school. Following her medical training, Nikki completed her Pediatric Residency in the Stollery Children’s hospital at the University of Alberta and her Adolescent Medicine subspecialty training at BC Children’s Hospital from the University of British Columbia. During adolescent medicine training, Nikki worked with brave and caring youth and their families in the areas of eating disorders, substance use disorders, sexual health, gender affirming care and mental health. She has a special interest in weight bias/stigma, intersection of eating disorders and obesity medicine, chronic pain, somatic symptoms disorders and general youth health. Outside of medicine, Nikki enjoys spending time with her medically complex basset hound, getting outside, and traveling.
