When you call or walk in, our intake teams can connect you to the right services or resources when and where you need them.

Children and youth services in Sunshine Coast
Find information on services available for mental health and substance use for children and youth. Many youth services support people up to age 19 or 24. 

    • Sunshine Coast Youth Program (SCYP) at Sechelt | shíshálh Hospital

      Provides mental health and substance use services to youth with the goal of responding quickly to youth who access the service.

    • Youth Clinic at Sechelt Health Unit

      Youth Clinics provide drop-in, confidential health consultation for all youth (male, female and 2SLGBTIA+).

    • Drug Checking at Sechelt Overdose Prevention Site

      Walk-in. Drug checking is a harm reduction service that allows people to determine what is in their substances and potentially take action to reduce the risk of any associated harm.

    • Sechelt Overdose Prevention Site

      Drop-in. Overdose prevention sites are safe spaces where teams of trained staff monitor people who use illicit drugs while they use to help prevent and recover from overdoses.

    • Sunshine Coast Older Adult Mental Health Program

      Provides care planning, capability assessments and short-term-counselling to senior clients with cognitive decline due to aging-related conditions.

    • Sunshine Coast Adult Community Support Services

      Provides services to adults 19+ with serious and persistent mental health concerns. These services focus on assessment, case management, clinical intervention, support, advocacy, rehabilitation, and community integration.

    • Sunshine Coast Overdose Outreach Team

      Outreach to people who have recently experienced an overdose, or who are high risk of overdose. This team assists with navigation to appropriate services, supports access to substance use stabilization and treatment services, supports with engagement and retention in services. Offers harm-reduction supplies including naloxone and overdose prevention education.

    • Adult Short-Term Counselling

      Mental health and substance use counsellors provide short-term individual and group therapy for adults with moderate to severe mental health and substance use concerns. These services are time-limited with the goal of reducing problematic symptoms, improving self-management skills, and increasing quality of life.

    • Intensive Case Management and Complex Care Housing Supports at Sunshine Coast

      Support services for adults aged 19 or older, who require support to access mental health and substance use services.

    • Youth Clinic at Gibsons Health Unit

      Youth Clinics provide drop-in, confidential health consultation for all youth (male, female and 2SLGBTIA+).

    • Harm Reduction & Harm Reduction Supplies at Sunshine Coast

      Harm reduction-based outreach, overdose prevention education, and delivery of harm reduction supplies including naloxone for the lower Sunshine Coast.
