About the presenter

Kariane Holmes (she/her), RN, MN, CNCCP(C) 
Clinical Nurse Educator,  T6 Surgical, Cardiac, Neurosciences and  Burn Unit; Registered Nurse, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, BC Children’s Hospital

Currently, Kariane leads the BC Children’s Hospital Surgical Inpatient education days and nursing education pathways, including Caring for the Burn Survivor Workshops and T6 Burn Bath Mentorship Program. Kariane is also an active member helping plan and organize the BC Provincial Burn Education Days in collaboration with Vancouver General Hospital and the BC Firefighter’s Fund.

Kariane began her career at SickKids Hospital on the cardiac inpatient and cardiac critical care units as bedside nurse, preceptor, safety coach team lead and family education room nurse. In 2020, Kariane moved to Vancouver where she worked at BCCH in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit while completing her Master of Nursing through Athabasca with a focus in clinical teaching. While in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Kariane was also a BCIT clinical instructor for the pediatric critical care specialty program, with an emphasis on post operative cardiac, advanced neuro and burn care patients. Kariane also has experience with clinical instructing for the undergraduate nursing program at the University of British Columbia.
