Key hand over complete: step inside the new Paul Myers Tower

​An exciting new milestone has been reached on the Lions Gate Redevelopment project – the key handover to the new acute tower at Lions Gate Hospital (LGH). This milestone is not just about the completion of construction, it's the beginning of a new chapter at the Lions Gate Hospital campus, the coastal communities we serve and a landmark achievement in Vancouver Coastal Health's journey toward enhancing patient care.

Welcome Figures will greet all at Lions Gate Hospital

​Creating safer spaces is a critical part of the work we do to support Indigenous clients, patients and families to feel comfortable, seen and valued. The creation of two Welcome Figures to be located at the main entrance of the new acute care tower at Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) acknowledges the traditional and unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation) on which the hospital is built.

New hospice to improve end-of-life care for Sunshine Coast residents

Vancouver, B.C. –Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and the Sunshine Coast Hospice Society (Coast Hospice) are pleased to announce the first dedicated hospice on the Sunshine Coast, which will feature eight beds, family meeting spaces and a sacred space.

‘Not suitable for swimming’ advisory remains in place for Alice Lake due to blue-green algae

Vancouver, B.C. — With warm weather in the forecast for the Labour Day long weekend and many people looking for ways to cool off, Public Health officials at Vancouver Coastal Health warn the public that a “Not suitable for swimming” advisory remains in place for Alice Lake near Squamish, due to a bloom of blue-green algae, or cyanobacteria.

New Musqueam art piece in Cancer Care Clinic

​Richmond Hospital unveiled a new art piece in its Cancer Care Clinic, created by Musqueam artist Darryl Blyth. Born and raised in Richmond, Blyth has spent his entire life in the Vancouver area, bringing a deep connection to his work.
