What does a Dietitian do?

Our dietitians are trusted professionals who provide nutrition therapy and services and are members of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. Dietitians deliver evidence-based information and education to support informed choices about food and diet, and support, participate in, and encourage nutrition research.

Accessing nutrition and dietitian services

Nutrition and Dietitian services are offered through services such as primary care networks, specialty outpatient services, home health, Public Health, long-term care and through other Vancouver Coastal Health services.

Some programs require a physician or referral from a health care provider, whereas other programs also accept self-referrals from clients and/or their families/caregivers.
