Vancouver Coastal Health expanding COVID-19 vaccination clinic capacity for those requiring first dose
B.C.'s Provincial Health Officer rescinds orders for COVID-19
This news release contains information that is more than six months old and may be out of date. On July 26, 2024, B.C.’s Provincial Health Officer issued an order to end the public health emergency for COVID-19 and rescinded all related orders.
Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is expanding COVID-19 vaccination appointment capacity at several of its sites and offering drop-in spots to support the ongoing delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations.
VCH strongly encourages eligible people in our region aged 12 and older, who haven’t received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, to book an appointment today or to drop-in to one of its convenient locations for easy access to same-day appointments, with managed wait times. These are for first doses only.
People aged 70 years of age and older (those born in 1951 or earlier) may attend a drop-in clinic, listed below, for first or second doses.
All are welcome at our clinics, including those without personal health numbers and people who are not residents of B.C. Staff will be available on-site to help people register and book appointments at other clinics throughout the region if needed, and can help answer all vaccine-related questions.

For people living in Metro Vancouver with transportation or mobility challenges, VCH is working with community groups, housing societies and transportation providers (TransLink, HandyDART and BC Transit) to assist getting to and from a COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Requests for transportation support must be made at least three days in advance of your vaccination appointment.
Enhanced safety measures and protocols are in place at all Vancouver Coastal Health COVID-19 vaccination clinics. Visitors are reminded to wear a short-sleeve shirt as the vaccine will be delivered to the upper arm. Everyone receiving a vaccine will be monitored for 15 minutes following their appointment.
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is responsible for the delivery of $4.1 billion in community, hospital and long-term care to more than one million people in communities including Richmond, Vancouver, the North Shore, Sunshine Coast, Sea to Sky corridor, Powell River, Bella Bella and Bella Coola. VCH also provides specialized care and services for people throughout B.C., and is the province's hub of health-care education and research.
