Vancouver Coastal Health confirms three cases of COVID-19 at Lions Gate Hospital
B.C.'s Provincial Health Officer rescinds orders for COVID-19
This news release contains information that is more than six months old and may be out of date. On July 26, 2024, B.C.’s Provincial Health Officer issued an order to end the public health emergency for COVID-19 and rescinded all related orders.
Vancouver, B.C. – Three administrative staff members of Lions Gate Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19. They are self-isolating at home and are recovering. They have not worked in clinical areas at Lions Gate Hospital.
Vancouver Coastal Health medical health officers are investigating the source of the transmission and are following up with those staff who may have had close contact with the individuals.
As of today, out of an abundance of caution, Lions Gate Hospital is restricting visitor access to family members only and will be posting signs to notify staff, patients and visitors to the hospital.
We are not restricting patient access to Lions Gate Hospital. Ambulatory patients will be contacted ahead of their appointments for symptom screening.
Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, and Dr. Bonnie Henry, Provincial Health Officer, will be available to answer questions at their daily briefing at 3:30 p.m. today.
