Pearson Community Health Centre
This new facility on the Pearson Dogwood site brings together a wide range of health services and supports in one location. The Community Health Centre will have four floors in the podium of one of the towers planned for the mixed-use campus. It will be designed to meet the health needs of South Vancouver residents, including those with complex health needs currently living at Oak Care Centre (formerly George Pearson Centre.)
Integrated Care Teams based at the Community Health Centre will include physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, concurrent disorders counsellors, occupational therapists, nurses and other professional and support staff who will work together to coordinate services for clients. These services include:
- Primary health care services
- Mental health & substance use programs for children and youth, adults and older adults
- Public health services
- Home health and home oxygen program
- Clinics, including: dental, eye, urology, gynecology, podiatry
- Community rehab and resource team
Client-centred services close to home
Bringing services together into one site with an integrated model improves the care experience at home and in the clinic. This experience is further enhanced by locating this Community Health Centre within an integrated community where residents can easily access the services and supports they require.
